I don’t know what got me thinking about “statement necklaces.” Maybe because every week I see them hanging from the necks of the Gossip girl cast. Or because a store clerk said the dress (that I would have purchased anyway) would go great with a gaudy, copper statement necklace. However, this particular necklace seems worlds away from the chunky, metallic, cleopatra-bibs that seem to strangle and weigh women down. This one has a graceful symmetry about it, despite the hippie earth-goddess vibes that always seem to emanate from abalone shells.
